Who are they?
Our
travellers are people of all ages seeking a stimulating
and unusual view of a country without necessarily
"roughing" it in terms of travel and accommodation.
|
 One
of the exciting characteristics of a typical Phu
Phiang group is that, while everyone takes part
because of a common interest (see below) and a
collective desire for an alternative way of travel,
each party is made up of different types of people
from different backgrounds.
 However
mixed, by nationality, age or otherwise, our members
soon gel together by sharing experiences and discoveries
and just by having fun exploring and meeting with
the friendly, smiling Thai people wherever they
go. New friendships quickly bloom and a family-like
atmosphere prevails.

What
are the "common interest" groups?
- General interest groups are for discerning
travellers interested in having an unusual
holiday in Thailand knowing that they will
meet the people and learn more about the genuine
culture and traditions of this "land
of smiles".
- Special interest groups are for
people with specific interests in crafts,
arts and other cultural traditions. These
are often organised for existing guilds and
societies in weaving, embroidery, or basketry
or those who are members of textile museums,
history associations, nature societies, etc.
We also organise special interest tours which
any individual can join. In fact, if you yourself
or your group has a special interest not mentioned
here, why not let us know and see what we
could organise for you?
- Fair Trade groups are for those
involved in marketing, administration or advocacy
work, or with just a keen interest in Fair
Trade. Tours are organised in association
with ThaiCraft,
a local Fair Trade organisation, and not only
visit places of fair trade production but
also include an introduction to other social
development programmes in Thailand.
Phu
Phiang's guides will do all they can to inform
travellers and show them examples of work
in Thailand concerning their special interest.
However, we also believe that a true understand
is only possible if specific activities are
taken in the context of their surroundings.
In every tour, a look at other everyday activities
are also included.
How can I join these
tours?
There
is nothing exclusive about those who join our
tours. In fact, our travellers are invariably
inclusive people. So, if you are someone who
welcomes the company of others with similar
interests and wish to share the enthusiasm to
learn and explore a country beyond the range
offered to most tourists, then we encourage
you to contact us and experience our individual
service. CONTACT
