Phu Phiang tours are operated in partnership with the ThaiCraft Association.
The ThaiCraft Association is a registered Fair Trade organization that helps village artisans throughout the country achieve self-reliance by creating income-generating opportunities. ThaiCraft offers producer groups training in marketing and assists in finding markets for their products both locally and by export. Phu Phiang emerged as an independent company when the customers and volunteers of ThaiCraft began requesting visits to producer villages. These individuals sought the chance to meet the people behind the products. Since then, Phu Phiang has expanded to offer various responsible tours to remote village areas of Thailand; places tourists do not often stumble upon!
Today Phu Phiang remains linked with ThaiCraft. It is the special relationships that ThaiCraft and its family-run management team have developed over the years that allow Phu Phiang to work so closely with village craft producers. Both organizations and the local communities have a deep sense of mutual respect; everyone recognizes the value of working together in order to promote fair trade in Thailand and abroad.
